Park City Calendar of Events

Park City is a ski town at heart, but it is also a burgeoning culture center, thanks to its thrivingarts scene and year-round calendar of events and festivals. Besides the obvious-world-class skiing and snowboarding all winter and spring, there are plenty of great activities going on all year long: athletic events, arts and cultural events, and year-round recreation.

If you're looking for a slower pace and relaxing days, then summer is the time to visit Park City. Celebrate our nation's beginning with an old-fashioned 4th of July parade down Main Street, or our unique Miner's Day Celebrations over Labor Day weekend. Cultural enthusiasts will enjoy the Park City Art's Festival, Park City Jazz Festival and Deer Valley Music Festival, Park City Food and Wine Classic or perhaps a symphony under the stars or free concert in the Park, held each Wednesday throughout the summer. We guarantee you won't run out of things to do this summer in Park City.

The Triple Crown Sports Softball Championshiops will return to Park City July 6, 2008 for three weeks of fast pitch softball action. 2008 will be the 13th year of the TCS World Series and the 6th year in Park City. In 2007 over 340 teams from 20 states participated in the World Series.

The Sundance Film Festival is held every January in Park City, one of the nation’s premier events. A tradition that always celebrates the new and the unexpected, the Festival is an unparalleled opportunity for artists, aficionados, critics, and industry professionals to enjoy ten days of the best in independent American and international cinema while enjoying Park City’s hospitality.

June 2008

June 1-July 14	Robert Glenn Ketchum’s beautiful nature photography is on display at the Kimball Art Center’s Main Gallery. The artist is a world renowned photographer and environmental preservationist. The gallery is open to the public and admission is free. The Kimball is located at 638 Park Avenue, along lower historic Main Street. The Kimball is a nonprofit community art center.
Sunday's through September 28	Park Silly Sunday Market—a funky, fun, open air market. Celebrate our community and creativity! Arts, music, food and beer garden on Historic Main Street. Unique every week! June 15 through Sept 28. Every Sunday 10am-5pm.
June 27-29	The fourth stop of the NORBA National Mountain Bike Series, the Subaru Gary Fisher Race, returns to Deer Valley, attracting nearly 1,500 athletes and over 25 professional mountain bike teams. This event featuring top level professional mountain bike racing is free to the public.
June-August	Park City Music Festival - Concerts throughout the summer at Deer Valley - Twenty-five summer concerts, July-August. Presenting chamber and cinema concerts, featuring outstanding national and international soloists. www.pcmusicfestival.com for more info

July 4	Traditonal 4th of July Celebration
July 10-13	Park City Food and Wine Festival - An annual wine festival featuring hundreds of wines and the finest restaurants. Come experience this epicurean extravaganza the first full weekend after the 4th of July.
July 6-27	Triple Crown Sports Girls Softball Championships

August 2008

August 2-3	The 39th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival. More than 200 selected artists, live music, wine & beer gardens, and the Kimball Kids’ Corner. Park City’s historic Main Street is closed to traffic and open to festival goers! The longest running arts festival in the West and the biggest summer event in Park City. The Kimball is a nonprofit community art center.
August 22-24	Park City Jazz Festival celebrates its 11th anniversary with an exciting mix of performances by world-renowned jazz artists, including Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Enjoy a weekend of jazz combined with all Park City has to offer. Sign up for jazz clinics and workshops.
August 23, 2008	Park City Marathon - Same scenic course as last year with the best of Park City Utah scenery, and an EIGHT MILE downhill finish! Register early as their is a cutoff this year at 500. Book your lodging and save 15%
August 29-Sep 1	The Soldier Hollow Classic celebrates the rich, global cultures of shepherding people by bringing this world-class sheepdog competition to the Olympic Hills of Soldier Hollow. You'll enjoy bagpipe music, great food, arts and crafts, animal activities and demonstrations every day of the event.

September 2008

Sept 1	Old Fashioned Miner's Day Celebration in Park City - Enjoy a traditional parade down Main Street and a celebration in the City Park with miner's mucking and drilling contests.
Sept 1	Presented by the Youth WinterSports Alliance, the Funky 5K is a fundraiser to benefit winter sports teams and junior athletes of the Park City community. 100% of each entry fee will directly benefit the team each participant indicates on their entry form. The course will start at City Park, along with all of Park City's other "Funky Old Miner's Day" festivities, and will finish on Historic Main Street, just before the "Funky Old Miner's Day" parade.
Sept 14	Mountain bike hill climb from City Park to Guardsman Pass, covering six miles and gaining 1,700 feet.
Sept 28	Park City's very own Oktoberfest on Main Street. Come check out the huge beer garden! A fall festival of farmers, artists, chefs, musicians, performing artists, non-profits, sustainable "green" issues and kids' activities.
